Vizir Olofin makes a point during the conference. At this point he is literally saying, in English, responding to remarks from a Nigerian delegate defending traditional African culture (most of the conference proceedings were in French): 'What do we mean by a culturally responsible person? You may say: I have never killed a person, I am a good Christian, I am a good Muslim, but the pipi [ sic] you have done in public kills the air for its stench, and the kaka [sic] you have done on the public ground pollutes the earth'...
